Location
Zermatt is car-free. Access for private traffic is only allowed as far as Täsch (5 km before Zermatt). The street from Täsch to Zermatt is closed for public traffic.
Between Täsch and Zermatt, the shuttle trains of the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn run every 20 minutes. After 12 minutes the train ride ends at the Zermatt train station.
